Future Plans
The first stage of Highfields Village Shopping Centre has served the Highfields community well for the last 3 years but there is now a need to address the need for additional retail space and expanded opportunities for our existing tenants.
Careful planning based on demonstrable need identified through empirical research has led up to our carefully consideration of the next stage of development.
We propose to undertake this in two stages with proposed completion of both stages by mid 2009.
Stage 2 development will include:
- Allowance for future expansion of Woolworths Supermarket
- Bigger Thrifty link hardware store
- Bigger medical centre with capacity for up to 10 Doctors, X-ray and pathology
- New Terry White/Brian O'Neil™ Pharmacy
- New 600m2 Discount department Store called The Reject Shop
- New retail opportunities for fashion, electronics and computers.(backfill)
Stage 3 development will include:
- Drive through, full line McDonalds, McCafe Family restaurant
- Drive through Red Rooster fast food restaurant.
The following plans illustrate the proposed future development at Highfields Village Shopping Centre and will further reinforce Highfields Village as the retail heart of Highfields and the true Town Centre.
