Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre was officially opened on 24 January 2004.

Visitors are able to enjoy a range of sports including netball, basketball, badminton and tennis.

The Centre also features a  gymnasium and café serving delicious meals and coffees.

There is also a lap and recreation pools heated to 28°C, a beach volleyball court, half-court basketball court, a water slide, barbecues and picnic tables in parkland surrounds.

A range of swimming lessons, coaching and fitness programs are available for all ages. The pool can be hired for private use after hours.

Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre is located on O'Brien Road (the western side of Highfields).

The Aquatic Centre is open from September to April.
