Lions Club of Highfields North-Eastern Downs Inc.

The Lions Club members meet on the first and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Highfields Tavern at 6.30pm with the meeting being called to order at 7.00pm. The Lions Club is the only service club in the Highfields area and was chartered on 15th February 1988. The Club has members from the Hampton, Cabarlah, Meringandan, Gowrie Junction to Toowoomba area.

The Lions Club is a charitable and community service organisation raising money for not only the local region but also state, national and internationally. Money is raised by holding raffles and assisting with parking. Last year we hosted a sausage sizzle for the Highfields Village Shopping Centre Birthday Celebrations.

Some of the areas to which donations have been made are health research, sight awareness, drug awareness and youth programmes. Locally the Lions Club has donated monies to the Toowoomba Hospice, Peacehaven Park and funded mobility aids for physically disadvantaged children.
